The Benefits of a CCRC
May 20, 2016
Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) are a combination of residential and care options designed to provide a “continuum of care” for residents. CCRC’s and their residents establish a business arrangement through a contract specifying exactly what supportive services, nursing, rehabilitation or other healthcare and housing will be provided for the resident as personal needs evolve. Often the ability to have access to health care and supportive services is the primary driver for individuals researching retirement living options. One of the largest benefits for choosing a CCRC is that it provides residents the ability to receive services within the same community setting or campus as care needs increase.
Today’s CCRC customer expects health care and supportive services to be available, however, expectations go beyond knowing care is available if needed. The desire to locate in a community that can provide exceptional life experiences far beyond just a list of “services and amenities”. Gone are the days when the sales person can tout the fact of having a pool. The prospective resident today appreciates the fact a pool is available, but wants to know how the pool will be used in programming to create an enhanced life experience. CCRC’s must address the life experience component in all aspects of the operation. From dining, wellness, socialization, or a continued learning program, it must all convey the lifestyle desires of an active vibrant retiree.
In Wilmington NC, Carolina Bay at Autumn Hall was developed to address more than just a list of services and amenities, instead focused on bringing them to life to promote the active lifestyle expected. With multiple dining options, wellness programs and life enrichment, designed with the resident in mind, why would anyone considering retirement living wait to move? With no entrance fee and a continuum of care onsite, Carolina Bay at Autumn Hall provides both peace of mind and greater flexibility.
