Say Hello to Priscilla Bell

October 30, 2019

Priscilla was born in Connecticut, and moved with her family to New Jersey when she was five years old. She has two brothers and two sisters. For college, she went to the mid-west and attended Mt. Union College in Alliance, Ohio, and then The Ohio State University. Priscilla earned her Masters and PHD in inorganic chemistry and became a fervent Buckeye fan. She worked for Ashland Chemical, and also taught at The Ohio State University as a lecturer and demonstrator. She says she is an expert in blowing things up! Then she moved to Whittier College in California, where she taught college chemistry for thirty-seven years.

Priscilla’s sister Jenny moved to Wilmington in 2014, and had been working as a cardiac nurse here and as a nursing professor at UNCG since 2014. You have seen the two of them together, and it is obvious that they are sisters! They traveled to Australia and New Zealand a few years ago where Priscilla got to fulfill a long-time desire – to parachute from an airplane. She was the first one out, and had someone parachute alongside her taking a video of her whole trip to the ground. She has the “I DID IT!” shirt as proof as well. Priscilla decided to move to Wilmington this year to be near Jenny and picked Carolina Bay for her new place to live. She is an active member of Winter Park Baptist Church where she participates in their community ministry.
