June Inspire Wellness Presentations!

Happy Wellness Wednesday folks! As a part of our INSPIRE programming (inclusive, nutritional, spiritual, physical, intellectual, recreational, engaging) we are committed to providing holistic well-being to our residents.
To encourage the intellectual aspect of wellness we had 2 presentations last week. On Thursday, Dr. Rowan, a professor from UNCW’s social work department, came to talk to our residents about LGBT aging. This was followed by a master’s thesis presentation by INSPIRE Life Enrichment and Wellness Coordinator, Haley Kinne-Norris, on housing discrimination for LGBT older adults in the Cape Fear region. The following day we had another master’s thesis presentation by Carolina Bay Wellness Assistant, Madison Norris on financial elder abuse.
