If you want to find out what is happening, where or when, your computer is a great help. All you have to do is type in “art in the Wilmington area” and you are immediately carried to a long list of happenings all around Wilmington and the surrounding areas. There are classes, exhibits, fairs, theater shows, as well as opportunities available to see art, create art and participate in all forms of visual and performing arts. Would you like to enroll in classes where you can develop your own artistic skills? That information is on line too. If Erin is aware of your specific interest, she can direct you to classes or shows. I took an interesting “tour” at the Cameron Art Museum one Wednesday. The guide took us through a gallery filled with photographic art. He discussed each image. I always thought that photos were just accidents that the photographer was lucky to capture. I learned that great photos are designed and planned by the photographer to evoke a feeling or thought. When the photographer is successful, it is not an “accident.” The photographer created the image with artistic skill. One can always learn! I am going to set up my easel in the art room and start painting there. I would love to have anyone, who is interested in working on their creations, join me there.
