Carolina Bay Gives Back

September 28, 2016 As we anticipate the coming of the Fall Season, perhaps our minds drift to thoughts of cooler weather, changing leaves, boots and sweaters and pumpkin spice everything! But we probably never think about how we will keep warm on chilly nights. For the many homeless individuals in New Hanover County, finding a warm place at night may be a daily consuming thought, and unfortunately, homeless shelters may not always have space to accommodate all those in need on the coldest nights. With this in mind Carolina Bay’s Marketing Team is working on the first “Carolina Bay Gives Back” project. Our project will partner with First Fruit Ministries, a local non-profit organization that organizes a bi-weekly street-feeding program at Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in downtown Wilmington. First Fruit serves a hot meal, from the church parking lot, to the homeless and needy in the area. The Carolina Bay staff with the help of an awesome community of residents, has kicked off a blanket drive, collecting donated blankets to be handed out during the November 9th street-feeding, co-sponsored by Coke Cares. We are excited that we will be able to place the blankets directly in the hands of those in need, in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday. For all of us at Carolina Bay, we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to work together to Give Back!
